The school aims to integrate all pupils into full participation in the National Curriculum. There are details in the National Curriculum which guide what children should be taught; however it is for school to decide how it is taught. Click on the links below to explore each subject:
Children throughout the school use the Government recommended Letters and Sounds Scheme of work to learn phonics and reading
Through planning, the school ensures that the curriculum:
meets the requirements of the National Curriculum;
provides continuity and progression for all pupils;
provides an appropriate balance of knowledge and skills, with opportunities for creativity and reflection;
caters for the needs of all pupils, including the most able and those in need of support, in an inclusive environment.
To enhance the curriculum, we make extensive use of local resources and ensure children have regular opportunities to participate in trips and visits. A range of visitors in school provide additional expertise and opportunities.
At the beginning of each term, teachers provide a curriculum map to all children and their parents which is sent out electronically or on paper as required. These maps give details of what the class will be learning throughout the term in all subjects, and can be found on the individual class pages. Click below
