Who's who - About Our Governors
Sue Brown - Co-opted Governor
"My name is Sue Brown and I have been associated with Bushmead Schools for many years, where I served first as a parent governor. During my twenty years as a member of staff, I carried out two terms as an elected staff governor, before my retirement in 2009 as an HLTA. Following this, I was invited to be an Associate and subsequently, selected as a Co-opted governor, the post I now hold, which includes the role of Link Governor for Pupil Premium . I also serve on the Curriculum and Standards committee and form part of the Headteacher Performance Management Review committee.
I am qualified in TEFL/EAL and passionate about education, so keep up to date with changes, particularly as I have four grandsons under seven!
I currently live in Great Staughton but lived in Eaton Socon for over 30 years. I am a former Bushmead pupil and my dad was also a pupil. I have two daughters who both attended Bushmead.
I have been a Governor since October 2007, firstly as a Parent Governor and now as a Co-Opted Governor since January 2015. I am on the Curriculum Committee and particularly enjoy the Year 6 Governor Challenge which takes place during the summer term. I also help out with the school bookshop when required.
Maureen Plowman (Chair)
I have lived in St Neots for the past 46 years. I worked for 10 years as the School Secretary for Bushmead Junior School and the Learning Support Centre for the area. When I left in 1996 I was asked by the then Chair of Governors if I would apply to become a Local Authority governor for the Junior school which I did and was accepted. I continued as an LA governor during the amalgamation of the Bushmead Infant and Junior schools and was accepted to continue for Bushmead Primary School. I became Chair of Governors 6 years ago, a role I consider a privilege to hold. It is wonderful to see the children who came to Bushmead when I worked in the office bringing their own children here.
TIm Robb - Co-opted Governor
My name is Tim and I have been a Community Governor at Bushmead Primary School for since 2012.
My day job is as Vicar of St Mary's Eaton Socon (the church opposite Tesco Express) which offers opportunities to engage with the community in so many different ways. I especially enjoy the privilege of taking School Assemblies!
Eileen Round – Associate Governor
I am the Finance Officer at Bushmead – I joined Bushmead back in 1994 after my 3 children had started school. I began my life at Bushmead at the Junior School (since demolished) which has now become a Primary School joining forces with the then Infant School. I was employed there for 2 hours a day in finance under the supervision of Maureen Plowman who is now our Chair of Governors. My role has steadily climbed up to a full time position as Finance Officer. I have now worked under 5 Headteachers!
Rebecca Walker - Parent Governor and Vice Chair
I have been a parent governor since November 2013. I have two daughters, the eldest is in Year 4 and the other in Year 2. I am on the Finance, Premises and Personnel committee although I attend most Curriculum and Standards meetings too.
Rebecca Wyse - Parent Governor
