Welcome to Year One!
This half term our Topic is 'Sea, Sun and Sand!
This half term we take ourselves away from busy London to the fun seaside! Over the next few weeks the children will take part in a creative indoor and outdoor curriculum that teaches them about weather changes and the four Seasons. We will be learning about how much seaside places have changed over the years and take part in our own class Punch and Judy show!
We will study the famous artists Claude Monet, LS Lowry and Trudy Kepke looking at how their inspirational seaside pictures were painted. Linked to the story 'The Light House Keeper' we will link Design and Technology with our English work by making lighthouses. In addition we aim to help Mr Gringling become more healthy by making him a healthy snack!
