Happy New Year!
We hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and a relaxing break, enjoying time with the people you love.
Our new topic is:
The Great Fire of London!
In English this week, we are planning our own version of the story 'How Rabbit Stole the Fire', choosing a new animal to steal the fire! Later in the week we will be becoming authors and writing our own version of the story.
In maths over the next 2 weeks we are starting to look at applying our maths skills in the context of money. We will be learning about the different value of UK coins and using these to add and subtract in practical situations.
In phonics this week, we are looking at adding suffixes to words (-er, -est, -ing, -ed, -y). We are looking at how some root words change slightly when you add a suffix. Also, we are looking at how the meanings of words change when you add different suffixes.
Have a go at the suffix game if you have time! (Choose level 1)
In PE, on a Friday morning, we are lucky enough to have a PE coach to assist in teaching our lessons. We have been learning 'ball, wall and tall' moves in Gymnastics. Last week we learnt lots of different 'ball' positions and started to sequence movements.
