We hope you had a lovely restful and fun filled half term!
Our new topic for this half term is....
Are you ready for a chill?
In Topic we will be exploring different countries in the Arctic, as well as researching which countries are hot, which are cold and what items we might need to pack when visiting different parts of the world. We will be looking at the North Pole and the South Pole, learning about the explorer 'Scott of the Antarctic', learning about what humans need to survive as well as categorising different foods and researching food chains. In art and DT we will be making our very own igloos out of sugar cubes and PVA glue and creating an Arctic scene, complete with Arctic animals. Towards the end of the half term we will of course be focusing on all things to do with Christmas! Including the Nativity story.
In English we are continuing to look at different poems as well as writing our very own poem, including rhyming words, about a snowman.
This week in Maths we are starting to look at division and how we can use 'sharing out' strategies to solve division problems.
Outdoor PE is on a Monday and we will need black joggers, a white t-shirt, a black jumper/hoodie and trainers.
Indoor PE is on a Wednesday and we will need a white t-shirt and black shorts.
*Children who have pierced ears will either need their earrings taken out or tape to cover them for PE lessons. *
Homework is set on Fridays and is due in on Wednesdays.
Spellings will come home with homework and the test will be done on a Friday morning.
