We are pleased you have chosen Bushmead Primary School for your child to join our Early Years setting from September 2021.
The smooth transition into school, and your child’s happiness is of paramount importance to us.
Detailed below is the transition process, giving your child the best possible start to school life at Bushmead.
Due to the current COVID restrictions we have carefully amended our transition process to ensure you are all ready to join us in September.
You will be invited to a ‘Parent Information Evening’ this will take place via zoom. During this meeting you will see film clips of how our EYFS setting works on a day to day basis.
Over the next few weeks the EYFS team will contact all feeder settings and will spend time talking to children’s key workers. This will enable us to begin to get to know your children. We will also publish stories read by members of the Bushmead team so your child can begin to familiarise themselves with the adults who will be looking after them.
Restrictions allowing, during the summer term you and your child will be invited to a ‘Meet Your New Friends Picnic’.
In the first full week of the Autumn term you will be invited to a morning stay and play session, followed by a home visit, in the afternoon via zoom.
For the second week your child will be allocated a daily slot to attend school for a few hours and have lunch with us.
Week 3 all children will attend school full time.
Please be reassured that we will do everything we can, to give you child the best possible start in school.
We look forward to you becoming part of our Bushmead family.
