A MASSIVE well done to all the children in Alder Class!
The children have settled into Year 1 beautifully and are already enjoying exploring a new classroom, learning new things and having lots and lots of fun! Thank you for all your support we are very proud of everybody!
Our Topic this half term is Bob The Builder
This half term in Year One we are going to be builders! We have an action packed time planned! We are starting off by retelling the familiar story of the '3 Little Pigs' leading on to the children having the chance to design, make and evaluate their own houses that the big bad wolf cannot blow down! In Art we will be learning about the famous artist Paul Klee, we will be looking at his block printing pictures and creating our own through the careful skill of printing. Science is all about investigating different materials ,we enjoy different material hunts and make material pictures to show what we have found out. In addition to all this Bob will be helping us to stay safe when using the internet by asking us to take part in his big quiz! Through drama and music we are going to challenge ourselves to bring Music alive by re creating the Bob the builder song with musical instruments. Look out for our big build day in school where we will spend the day building something special and amazing!!!!
